My name is Josh Mossotti. I come from St. Louis, Missouri and currently reside in Los Angeles, California. I work as a 3d Visual Effects Artist for film and television. I feel uniquely blessed to belong within an industry that I enjoy and that challenges me to constantly learn, adapt and create in a field of rapid exponential growth. The job can be demanding and the workload can seem insurmountable, which I believe makes personal balance all the more important. I supplement my career with the things that I enjoy. I bury myself in art forms of all kinds: literary, musical, culinary, and of course visual. It appears to have reached a point of over stimulation and it does not seem quell the desire for more. The further I dig, the the intrigue builds and the fuel for me create is ignited. I don’t know if there is a point of satisfaction, and I am not certain I want to find it. Perhaps death is simply the ultimate satisfaction, all thirsts quenched.
As I mentioned, I firmly believe in balance of most everything. I compensate for things that stimulate me mentally with activities that feed me physically. While I live in southern California I intend to take advantage of the multitude of doings it has to offer. I surf frequently and train vigorously. I like to hike, bike, swim and about anything I can find to keep my body alive and active.
I tend to fill my time with the things that interest me most as a non-stop reminder that I am alive right now. I can plan for the future and think of the past, but I am here presently. It surprises me how easy it is to lose sight of that but remains altogether the most important element in the pursuit of happiness. Wealth, power, stature and things remain here. If there is something ‘next’ the experiences I have while I am here is all I can take with me. My goal is to leave the world a glimpse of what I saw while I was here. Artistically speaking.
